Someone to Talk to Online: How to Find One, Rates, and How It Works
Some nights you want to talk, so you open your contacts, scroll from top to bottom, and close it again without sending anything. Not because you have no friends, but because not everything is easy to share with someone who'll see you again tomorrow. That's where paying someone to talk online comes in.
What you're actually booking
You're booking someone's time. It's that simple. You pick the talent, choose chat or voice call, choose how long, and then you talk. No personality test, no long form about your problems, no one judging you.
What you pay for is their attention for that length of time. Not a lifelong friendship, not a relationship, and not therapy. We spell out this limit on purpose, because it's exactly what lets both sides use the service with peace of mind.
Why people use this service
From the booking patterns we see, the reasons are rarely as dramatic as people assume. Most often it's about timing. You finish work at 11 p.m. and want to talk, while everyone you know is asleep. Others work shifts, and their breaks never line up with anyone else's.
The second reason is the kind of distance that actually feels comfortable. Talking to someone outside your circle of friends is easier. There's no risk of your story reaching the wrong person, and no different looks when you meet again.
The rest are simple. Wanting company while working on something, wanting to talk about a topic nobody around you is into, or just not wanting to be alone that night.
How to choose the right person
Don't start with the price. Start with how they talk. On the home page every profile shows their interests and how they keep people company, and that matters far more than a difference of a few tens of thousands of rupiah.
If you want to be listened to, look for someone whose description is really about listening. If you want a lively chat about music or football, look for someone into those things. Both are perfectly fine, but a wrong pick shows within the first five minutes.
The advice that works most often: book the shortest session first with a new talent. If you click, go longer next time. If not, you've only lost a little and you have your answer.
Typical rates
Each talent sets their own rate, and it's shown on their profile before you book. No sign-up fee, no monthly subscription, and no charges that turn up later. You'll find the details on the typical rates page and in the list of talents and their rates.
What's okay and what isn't
This is the part worth reading before you book, so your expectations line up.
Okay: talking about whatever is real for you, going quiet for a while if you don't feel like talking, chatting about silly things, or asking for company until you fall asleep. No topic is too small.
Not okay: asking to meet in person outside the service that's actually offered, asking for private photos, steering the conversation toward sex, or asking to pay outside the app. Talents are trained to decline these things, and a no isn't something to take personally.
If what you need is more than a conversation
This needs to be said plainly. If what you're feeling has gone on for weeks, affects your sleep and appetite, makes it hard to get through the day, or comes with thoughts of hurting yourself, someone to talk to isn't the answer. What you need is a psychologist or psychiatrist, and there's nothing shameful about that.
Keeping someone company and treating them are two different things. We can only keep you company. The difference is explained in more detail on our someone to vent to online page.
How to get started
Open the talent list on the home page, read a few profiles, then tap book on the person you feel you'd click with most. Choose the service and length, and you'll be taken to our admin on WhatsApp to confirm payment. Once it's confirmed, the session is scheduled.
Feeling awkward at the start is normal and usually passes within a few minutes. You don't need to prepare topics. Just start with how your day has been.
Frequently asked questions
What is paying someone to talk online?
You book someone's time to keep you company by chat or voice call. You choose how long, and you choose who. You're paying for their time and attention, nothing else.
Is it weird to pay someone to talk to?
No. Most people who book actually have plenty of friends, but not everything is easy to share with people who know you and will see you again tomorrow. Others just have schedules that don't match anyone around them.
How much does someone to talk to online cost?
Each talent sets their own rate. It starts from a few tens of thousands of rupiah per hour, and you can see it on each profile before you book. No hidden fees.
Is my identity safe?
You don't need to share your real name, address, workplace, or social media accounts just to talk. Talents aren't allowed to ask for them either. Be honest with your story, and keep your personal details to yourself.
What if we don't click?
That happens, and it's fine. Book a short session to try first. If their style isn't for you, pick another talent next time. There's no obligation to continue.
