Sleep Call Rates: Typical Prices and How to Work Them Out
The short answer: in Indonesia, sleep calls cost roughly Rp15,000 to Rp50,000 per hour. The range is wide because there's no standard price yet. This page breaks the ranges down by service type, explains what makes one person more expensive than another, and points out prices you should avoid.
Typical market prices
Short sleep call, 30 minutes. Around Rp10,000 to Rp20,000. Usually for people who just need a little company before they get properly sleepy.
One-hour sleep call. Around Rp15,000 to Rp50,000, and the most commonly booked.
All-night sleep call, four to eight hours. Usually priced as a package, around Rp60,000 to Rp200,000, rather than simply the hourly rate times the hours.
Daily chat companion. Priced as a package, for example around Rp10,000 to Rp20,000 for twelve hours, since replies don't need to be instant.
Video calls. Usually one and a half to two times the voice call rate, because the talent needs to be camera-ready.
The figures above are a general picture of the market, not our official prices. At TemanCerita each talent sets their own rate, starting from Rp20,000 per hour, and you can see it on their profile card before you book. Package details are in the list of talents and their rates.
Four things that make rates differ
1. The type of service
Chat is the cheapest because the talent can reply while doing other things. Voice calls cost more because they need full attention. Video calls cost the most because on top of full attention, the talent has to be camera-ready and can't just lie in the dark.
2. The time of the session
A session at 10 p.m. and one at 3 a.m. are very different asks. The second means the talent gives up their own sleep and still has class or work the next day. It's reasonable for some to charge more for those hours.
3. The total length
Longer packages are usually cheaper per hour than booking one hour at a time. If you plan to have company until you fall asleep, booking the whole package at once usually works out cheaper than extending again and again.
4. The talent's experience
Talents with lots of completed sessions and good ratings usually charge more, and that makes sense. New talents often charge less to collect their first reviews. Both are fine, it just depends on what you're looking for.
An example of working it out before you book
Say you want a voice call from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m., which is two hours. The talent you pick charges Rp25,000 per hour. The total is Rp50,000, and that's what you pay, not some other number halfway through.
What usually inflates the cost isn't the rate, it's extending a little at a time. If you know you'll need a while, it's better to book a longer session from the start.
Price warning signs
- The price only comes up once the session has started. A proper rate is always known before you start.
- Being asked for a large upfront transfer for a long package. Especially to a personal account rather than the platform.
- Extra fees that were never mentioned. Surprise admin fees, automatic extension charges, and the like.
- Very cheap, but with no clear identity. A price far below the market from an unverified account usually means something else is being traded.
- Being steered off the app to get a cheaper price. Once you leave, nobody can help you if anything goes wrong.
A simple rule that rarely fails: if the price changes after you've already started, just stop. Ending a session always costs less than continuing something that wasn't honest from the start.
How to pay safely
Pay through the platform, not to a talent's personal account. Not because the talent can't be trusted, but because when money changes hands directly, there's no record and no third party who can step in when there's a problem. At TemanCerita payment goes to the platform first, then gets passed on to the talent on schedule.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a sleep call cost per hour?
In the Indonesian market it's around Rp15,000 to Rp50,000 per hour, depending on who keeps you company and whether it's by voice or video. At TemanCerita talents set their own rates, starting from Rp20,000 per hour, and the price is on their profile before you book.
Why do rates differ from person to person?
Four things matter most: the type of service (chat is cheapest, video calls cost the most), the time of the session (the early hours usually cost more because the talent gives up their sleep), the total length, and the talent's own experience. Talents with good ratings and plenty of experience reasonably charge more.
Are there hidden fees?
There shouldn't be. The rate on the profile is the final price for the length you choose. If a provider adds fees after the session starts, or asks for more money to keep going, that's a red flag and you should stop.
Is the cheapest rate always the best?
Not always. A rate far below the market sometimes just means the talent is new, and that's fine. But if a price is unreasonably cheap from an unclear provider, something is usually being traded off, whether it's quality, the safety of your data, or being led toward something outside the service.
